TDM 1 ⬡ The Oval Portrait
The Chateau![]() ⬡ Common Cast Characters most likely to originate in The Chateau are The Aristocrat and The Valet ⬡ Literary Description "To all appearance it had been temporarily and very lately abandoned. We established ourselves in one of the smallest and least sumptuously furnished apartments. It lay in a remote turret of the building. Its decorations were rich, yet tattered and antique. Its walls were hung with tapestry and bedecked with manifold and multiform armorial trophies, together with an unusually great number of very spirited modern paintings in frames of rich golden arabesque." ⬡ For Your Exploration Characters may attempt to explore the Chateau, but it will be shrouded in darkness, and every room they enter will bring them back to the apartment chosen by The Valet. What decorations may be seen are dark and victorian in design, and the room and halls may be lit by candlelight. The Maiden's portrait is on the wall, and will initially be cloaked in shadow for The Aristocrat to find. It appears remarkably lifelike, almost as though it is a window instead of a portrait. The other paintings on the walls will contain figures that are almost familiar to The Aristocrat and The Valet - as though they could be someone they know, but only if they squint. There is no electricity. Characters will not have access to any powers. The Artist's Tower![]() ⬡ Common Cast Characters most likely to originate in The Artist's Tower are The Maiden and The Painter ⬡ Literary Description "But she was humble and obedient, and sat meekly for many weeks in the dark, high turret-chamber where the light dripped upon the pale canvas only from overhead. But he, the painter, took glory in his work, which went on from hour to hour, and from day to day." ⬡ For Your Exploration Should characters leave the Painter's studio, they will immediately be transported outside, to a sprawling field of wildflowers. There won't seem to be anything else around, but there will be a light breeze and the sound of the sea in the distance. Inside the studio, the air is stale and musty, smelling of oil paints and turpentine. It's dim, lit only by a skylight. There is a stool for the subject and an easel with canvas sitting in the light, but everything else - art materials, more canvases, both empty and with the beginnings of paintings, and props - are all pushed to the sides of the room and cloaked in shadow. Like The Chateau, there is no electricity, and characters will not have access to their powers. The Library![]() ⬡ Welcome! Free from their roles, through either death, completion of the Story, or from not being pulled into the tale in the first place, characters will find themselves in the gardens outside of the Library itself. As always, it will look and feel like a temperate, autumn afternoon. As this setting is part of the Library itself, characters will have full access to all their powers. ⬡ Grand Opening Coming Soon! The front door will, unfortunately, be locked, and a sign will be taped on the doors, detailing how the Library will be opening soon, but in the meantime to please enjoy the grounds and the pizza party in the courtyard. ⬡ Pizza party? Pizza party! In the courtyard, there will be tables set up that will be absolutely covered in stacks of paper plates, 2-liter bottles of any soda one could dream of, and stacks and stacks of pizza boxes, containing any flavor combination that could be desired. Opening a random box will provide a random, but popular, flavor. Opening a box with an Intent and a Desire for something specific will provide exactly that. Enjoy! It won't run out. | ||||||||||||||

Osamu Dazai | Bungou Stray Dogs | OTA | Maiden
[ A BLANK C A N V A S ]
[He can't remember what happened next, but he does know he has a pounding headache. Osamu pats at his forehead, sitting up. There's a certain unfamiliar gentle feeling that darts across his actions, his lips pursing. He gets up from the floor, shaking his head.]
Mm. What's...going on?
[He looks around, then frowns.]
Am I in some kind of gallery? ...Where's my husband?
[Wait, husband? ...Husband. Oh-kay then. He swerves around, before noticing another person in the room.]
Oh, my, is that you, my darling?
[....He might be playing this up a little bit with the way he gets on his tiptoes and bats his eyelashes.]
I've~ missed~ your~ company~
[W I L D F L O W E R S]
[That place was quiet and dark! And musty! And awful! So Osamu had walked outside....swaying his hips, because of course he was. And now he was enjoying the flowers.
Well, more eyeing them up. A small smile formed on his face.]
I wonder if any of these are poisonous...my, that'd be a way to go...I couldn't go without my darling, though...maybe he'll delight in eating some with me!
[He's giggling. Good grief.]
[W E L C O M E]
[So there he was, another unfamiliar location. At least he didn't feel... off this time. A small foxlike amused smirk formed on his face.]
How interesting. I thought for certain that'd be the end of me that time. What a shame.
[Now, where was he? ...Uncertain. But he felt less limited. Which was a marked positive. He walked further into the garden, then peered up at the door as he walked past it.]
Library opening soon...hm. Well. I've always enjoyed a good book.
[He's amused and intrigued.]
[ PIZZA P A R T Y]
[Osamu looked around at the well-stocked party. Well. At least wherever this was, it seemed to be...peaceful. A place people would've gone to by choice, honestly. Not that Kunikida would usually let him slack off at a place like this...
But! Kunikida wasn't there!!!
Which led to Osamu taking a bottle of Coke, and then looking at the pizza boxes.]
Pepperoni.
[He opened the box. Pepperoni pizza. Then he tapped his chin, putting that box aside.]
Pineapple.
[Sure enough, opening that box produced a pineapple pizza.]
...I'm a psychic.
[Not really, but this is amusing.]
[WILD C A R D]
[Got any other ideas? Shoot me a message or post up something and we can probably work it out! Thanks!]
wildflowers
he's not alone. someone else is already out here, looking at the flowers. Osomatsu can hear the sea in the distance as he approaches. where is he?]
Uh, 'scuse me... You see a pachinko parlor anywhere around here?
no subject
He contemplates in the back of his mind why he married such an old man, but some weird wonky voice in the back of his head says 'because you love him!'
...Yeah, sure.
But nonetheless, he gives this guy a smile.]
A pachinko parlor? I don't think so. There's not really a city to gamble in all the way out here...mostly just country air. It's nice. Kind of boring, but...
[Well, can't be picky with locales when you're living the life of an artist's wife. Husband? ...Either.]
no subject
...but wait! this is probably still part of the weird dream he's having. sure, it must still be going on]
Silly me. I forgot I was no longer in the city. Hahahaaa...
no subject
Is that so? Or do you not ever imagine coming here at all?
That's an important distinction, you know.
[Not that he knows the feeling. Absolutely not.
...Probably?]
no subject
Whaddaya mean?
no subject
You don't remember moving here, do you? Or anything about where we are?
no subject
N-no... I don't. I feel kinda lost, actually. Like I think I'm supposed to be here, but not really sure yet.
no subject
[A beat as he picks up a flower and sniffs at it. A curious smile forms on his face.]
You wouldn't happen to be an artist, would you?
no subject
No, but my husband is!
[where did that come from? oh well]
...I think.
no subject
You think. You probably should know your own husband's profession as a certainty. And it's an odd coincidence that you say that....because mine is as well. I think. That's why I asked.
But on top of that...I can only remember the slightest details about him. He's older than I am. Far older. He's an artist. We live together. And he's always seemed to love his art more than me. I don't know his name, or his face. If you asked me any personal questions I should probably know before marrying someone - his family, his finances, his preferences on anything...I couldn't tell you. It's all a blank.
That's kind of odd, isn't it? Enough so to be alarmed.
no subject
he rubs the back of his head]
I mean, I wasn't really thinking about it before now. But I guess you're right. It is alarming.
no subject
[He looks away, takes one more sniff of his flower, and walks further towards him.]
My muse. My one and only. It's so nice to see you on this beautiful morning. Your captivating brown eyes have taken me, as usual, and your smile...that is the only thing that I can never truly capture in one of my pieces. Nothing can ever truly match reality when it comes to true beauty such as that.
[He takes one of his hands.]
As befits the man I married.

pizza party
[Zoro was holding onto his side, hurt, but still standing straight. He grabs a bottle and frowns. It's cola.]
no subject
[Osamu smiles back at the man, but then raises a brow.]
Are you alright? You look injured.
no subject
[Nope, not injured. Zoro tries to move his arm and ouch, ok, bad idea. He hasn't been this hurt in literal years, so what the hell?]
'm fine. I think.
no subject
[He says, while grabbing a slice of pepperoni.]
...You winced, though. So you might not want to move that arm too much.
[If only Yosano were here...shame.]
I'm not really a medic, though, so take my advice at your discretion.
no subject
[He sighs. He forgot how much being this hurt actually, well, hurt. He ignores the man's advice and moves his arm to a closed box. He opens it and smirks. There's a nice, all meat pizza, waiting for him.
He grabs a slice, and stuffs his face with it. Not as good as the cook's food, but it'll do.]
no subject
[Clearly he's been out-logic'd. He chuckles, taking a bite of his pizza.]
So, did you just get out of the same experience everyone else seems to have? The whole painting bit. Being someone's muse. Thinking you're in a loveless marriage. Fun stuff.
no subject
Eh? Not at all. I woke up in a room, hurt somehow, and completely alone. Except for the paintings. [He looks Osamu up and down.] That happened to you?
no subject
I think letting him paint me ended the whole sequence, and now I'm here. It's a major pain. I don't know the way home from here, either, so I've kinda done the whole 'lost child' bit where it's 'if you're lost, stay in one place, and eventually people you know will find you'.
I hope.
no subject
Sounds better than waking up hurt.
[He laughs now, and his sides ache, ouch.]
I never get lost, we could try and find your way home together, if you'd like.
no subject
[He does not sound too hurt and he's smiling. Sure, Dazai.
He hums, nodding, taking another bite of his pizza.]
Worth a shot, if we can find some kind of guide here...my home is in Yokohama. I know my way around that general area, at least. You familiar?
no subject
[Where, exactly, is Yokohama?]
Nope, you familiar with Wano?
[He had been in the Sunny, completely wet from the rain, and now he's here. Eating shitty pizza. With a weirdo.]

Congratulations, good sir, on finding an extremely old, tsundere thing to bat eyelashes at. ]
I've never been called anyone's darling, and I've no intention of beginning now.
[ And thus he plants a firm hand on the stranger's shoulder and tries to push him back into a proper standing position, not whatever...this is. ]
