	A Christmas Carol Merry Christmas! Welcome to the plotting meme of our first official event! Some things to keep in mind: ⬢ The setting is Victorian in nature. ⬢ The only Roles with powers are the Ghostly Visitors, and only in the following ways: ⬡ The Ghost of Christmas Past can transport themselves and someone else to a vision of a Christmastime in their past with only a touch. They will also project light from their head at all times, and will have a shifting appearance, like you cannot look at them directly. ⬡ The Ghost of Christmas Present spreads the joy of the season with his mere presence, though can also do this more directly with a sprinkle of soot from his torch. ⬡ The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come gives off an oppressive, ominous aura, making those around it that are aware of its presence more prone to guilt. As a Ghost of Christmases to Come, are visions of the future restricted to futures for the character roles, or can future visions be for the actual characters playing the parts? Possibly with Scrooge getting a weird mashup so it's like "ah yes if you were Scrooge this is what your life would be like after you croak". Basically do we get play room for what future is shown, if someone doesn't run screaming from the scary mute spirits in black?

Wei Wuxian is a Ghost of Christmas to Come in this, and he's about as good as being mute as you'd expect: so he's going to be trying to write or pantomime with anyone who ends up having him visit. Which could be you! Or you! Or any of you.

He'll be popping into people's apartments or trying to hang out with the other ghosts of Christmas, primarily so he can... chat via written message and be entertained, or try to get one of the other Christmas Spirits to snowball fight with him. It'll be great. He promises!

Anyone who wants a future vision of their sad Winter Season with a random Victorian flare, hit me up, Wei Wuxian is all here for patting your shoulder and trying to get Victorian Alexa on you by playing you a song ON HIS FLUTE... that he, a ghost, stole from a store. And will be playing in appropriate places, like the graveyard, your house in the middle of the night, by the fireside, on a rooftop, or in the kitchen.

So, in short:

- Do you want a vision of your sad future Winter Season for the jerks in the crowd, or a less sad one for the not-jerks;
- Do you want flute playing on an unfamiliar instrument from a graveyard ghost with no visible face;
- Do you, another ghost, want to get into a snowball fight?

⬢ About: tseng's the leader of the turks, the guys that get all the nasty stuff done in shinra. he can be kind of cold, calculating, and definitely anal, so he doesn't exactly make friends easily, but he's incredibly loyal and cares a lot about people underneath that very icy exterior. he's good in a physical fight, but much better at manipulation!

⬢ Role: tseng has been assigned the role of a member of the cratchit family and given that he's 30 and i'm gonna go easy on him this time, i'm aiming for him being one of the children, as weird as that will be for him, and retaining his age. in terms of how the role will change him, he will be definitely warring with the compulsion to be 'kind' and 'loving' and may be visibly taken aback by some of the sweet things that come out of his mouth. he'll also feel super weird about caring about people he feels like he knows but doesn't, as well as being someone's family member/having parents. setting-wise, he will be found mostly in city streets & the present but i'm happy to confusingly plunk him down anywhere.

⬢ Desired CR:
‣ anyone who wants to get up to some good-spirited mischief in the streets, like snowball fights, etc or exploring the shops, listening/participating in the carols, other christmas-related activities, etc.
‣ any other cratchit family members who want to play up the odd compulsion that they're all somehow related, or to enjoy dinner with, or explore the house(s). he's used to watching over/taking care of people, so he can also take care of the tiny tims with ease.
‣ interactions with any of the spookier roles, like the ghosties! god knows he's got some sad past/future visions that could be incorporated, if the ghosts get tired of hunting down scrooges.

⬢ Other: i'll most likely not be doing a top level for this one, so basically if you'd like to have tseng tag in to something, or alternately do a closed prompt for him, let's discuss! i'm trying not to take on too many things this month given the rush of the holiday season and my abysmal lack of time off work, so just a few threads would be lovely. ♥

⬢ About: Yuri is an easy-going, charming, generally deceptive mob-boss type, who is a firm believer in screwing over the rich to support the poor. Ever since he was a child he's believed it's his duty to do whatever it takes to help others, which set him on a path that started with petty crimes and has since covered the whole spectrum of lying, cheating, assassinations, schmoozing nobles, deceiving the people closest to him to gamble his and their super rare blood (literally) in a ploy to protect his people ... you know, the usual.

⬢ Role: Yuri has been assigned the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, which is the Christmas gift I never knew I wanted! He'll be older for this — late 40s, I think, so with streaks of grey in his hair and definite silver-fox vibes — and have the look of someone who was pretty in his youth but who has become twisted with greed and crankiness. This will actually be a pretty terrible role for him, psychologically, because he's an "eat the rich" Robin Hood-esque type whose M.O is helping the needy in whatever way that he can, so chances are there'll be moments of utter horror and self-loathing that shine through after his selfish, miserly acts.

★ Bah-humbugging at cheerful, wholesome characters; generally being difficult and obstinate when surrounded by Christmas twinkling and good cheer
★ Refusing to help people / give money to people who need it, for the inner-Yuri devastation

⬢ Other: As I'm inordinately busy IRL for the rest of December (working pre-Christmas retail, best friend's wedding, housemate's birthday, Christmas itself, PhD work + further funding application deadlines in early Jan) I'd like to limit myself to no more than five threads so that I'll be able to tag more regularly / get to finish them. I welcome absolutely all CR so this will just be first come first serve; life should have calmed down significantly in January so I'll be able to take on more threads then!

⬢ Role: One of the Cratchit children. There won't be much that affects him, tbh. He comes from a normal family and though he's an only child, he's used to living with a lot of people and having no space or even adequate food sometimes. He half-fakes being nice a lot, so some of the genuine feelings experienced will be weird: like actually giving a fuck that Tiny Tim is sick, and conversely, hating Scrooge when he'd normally idolize that kind of selfish and financially successful person.

⬢ About: Dimitri is the straightforward, idealistic, and kinda depressed King of Faerghus. Hailing from the end of his route, he's already undergone his most critical character arc: eschewing his delusional anger as a way to cope for past trauma, and instead choosing to be a better person by no longer being chained to the ghosts of the past. He still has some emotional baggage he needs to deal with, but is overall doing well enough to socialize and be a stern yet earnest do-gooder in anyone's general direction.
⬢ Role: Dimitri is playing the role of The Ghost of Christmas Present, the most hilarious one he could possibly end up with. Gone will be the sometimes too-serious demeanor and any reservations; instead, he will be joyfully spreading Christmas merriment in the best way possible -- with laughter, showing off the general Holiday Experience, and gregariously twisting the arms of any Scrooges out there to observe and/or participate in them. It might be a little awkward after it's all over, since Dimitri has never allowed himself to be that happy in a really long time, but hey, that's Future Dima's problem.

⬢ Desired CR: Erion does not actually have Christmas...I don't even know if Ragnanival (her culture) specifically even celebrates anything beyond murder, so she's really gonna need help with this one. ⬢ About: Was once a half-demon named Vergil. Vergil cut himself into human and demon halves with a magic sword. He wanted to go on living as his bad demon self. He expected his human self would be too weak and would literally just die. V says "I don't want to die" and decides to try to fight back to show that dick who really needs who around here.

V is 47 days old and has no experiences of his own outside of the above story. Which I am interrupting with his canon point, so he doesn't even know if he successfully saved the world from himself.

* Also everyone else who requires a spirit in their life.

⬢ Role: Ghost of Christmas Present - He's not great at joy but he does actually have a strong connection to living life while you can and no longer obsessing over power or money or whatever trivial shit at the expense of your actual soul. This is a good role for him. Welcome your snooty goth ghost who just wants you to have a good time! I should find out if he can include his entourage or summons for this story as his ghost entourage for creating joy...

⬢ About: misa is an energetic and dramatic young lady - an idol and model by trade! on a typical day, she's cheerful and playful, and regularly overreacts to things for the entertainment factor. she's super affectionate, she will hold onto your arm if you're on good terms. she has the occasional temper problem if she feels insulted or gets a reason to feel jealous, but her death note's locked away, so she's no threat to anyone!
⬢ Desired CR:

— family members! misa actually lost her family in her canon in a tragic murder/break-in so spending time with family will be really emotional for her during the story and afterwards, too. she definitely won't resist the compulsion to act lovingly towards the fam!! she'll be extremely affectionate towards all of the cratchit family, and also will do everything to keep her family from feeling sorry/bad about her symptoms? she will play pranks, make tiny gifts with what she can find, and play off her symptoms to the best of her ability.

— people to take her to see the christmas cheer outside?? if you give her a piggy back ride, she will teach you carols or braid your hair in return (without asking while you cannot stop her?? she's a handful). she has a ton of energy for being so sick and will likely tire herself out/not know when to stop when playing outside, so someone to keep her in check.

— scrooges to be obnoxiously positive at; she will be more ✨angelic and nice✨ due to the story but that won't stop her from being stubborn about spreading the holiday cheer. you WILL be making a makeshift christmas decoration with her whether you like it or not mr scrooge

⬢ Role: misa will be tiny tim in the story! she'll be around 8-9 years old, and super tiny and frail. she will most likely need to be carried most places? but, on the bright side, she'll have a good attitude about being sick.
⬢ Other: misa's birthday is actually christmas day! i'm not sure if she will actually remember this within the context of the story, but after the story is over, she's going to be majorly bummed and dramatic over missing getting to plan her own birthday party in the library?? world's biggest priority right here
